More Radical Posters from Obey

Its always cool to see what Obey is up to in staying involved with current events, though I've been expecting to see a piece from them for Egypt.  Really liking the first "POW(ER)" print which you can check more out on   its explanation from the site.  In general, Obey is always able to produce big bold designs with meaningful ideas backing them.  They always pull off ornamental styling really well too.

Awesome Posters and Flyers from the OBEY Giant Archives

Spent a few hours digging through the heavy and rich archives of the OBEY website, so here's some cool gig posters, show flyers, album sleeves and prints by Shephard Fairey and OBEY that I've never seen before.

Shepard Fairey of Obey Giant seems to be doing work for not-so-typical clients lately; the Henry Rollins and Stephen Colbert prints definitely surprised me.  I can't say much about how much Goodness is in those posters (I doubt that the colbert one was actually touched by Shepard's hand...looks like something you could draft up in Illustrator...while forgetting completely about the type).  However, the typography and geometry is VERY appealing in the first one, and I hope that's not arguable.  See more OBEY in our previous posts.

Some say Shepard is losing his touch with his newer work after his image really got bigger after the establishment of obey and his print work for the Obama campaign.

Either way, he's still laying it down on the government with his art direction that represents a voice much larger than his own, offering inspiration and affecting others to do work.

Obey x Stereo Skateboard Decks

An exciting collaboration with streetwear brand Obey and Stereo Skateboards just launched on four pro decks designed by none other than Shepard Fairey. Some shops received shipments in the Spring on the decks, but Slam City Skates just got the lineup, amongst many other retailers.
Slam City is located in England and these £54.95 each from them you might want to wait until a retailer in the US has them.
