H-57 Creative Station

Its things like these that make it worthwhile to be a blogger--"Tomorrow is Now" poster set from H-57 Creative Station from Milan, Italy.  Loving the border work and graphics and playfulness with the type.  Definitely one of those moments where you say to yourself "I wish I made that".

Leonetto Cappiello --The Father of Modern Advertising

1960 Absinthe Poster

Considered by many as the father of modern advertising, Leonetto Cappiello was an Italian poster art designer in Paris, France.  Coming from a paint and caricature artistic background, Cappiello crafted posters designs that were simple with either funny or strange interpretations, often using bold figures popping out of dark backgrounds.  His caricatures of Parisian actresses are kind of amazing, as are his animal posters.

During the early 1900s when he began his innovative approach in designing posters, he developed his own style and refused to go along with graphic styles that were gaining popularity at the time like the Art Nouveau movement.  His work speaks for itself in terms of distinctness during an early era of poster design, and is as good inspiration as any today to graphic designers.

Happycentro

Some terrific design work forwarded to us from friends @zzarate & @jtroll.

Paperobjects is a set from two years back from Verona, Italy based Happycentro, and is really magnificent work. The perspective presented with the origami is phenomenal, and you could easily get lost in the dimensions, lines, and dots. Looking at these remind me of animals blending in with their environment, like chameleons. or octopi.

Also another incredible piece done by Happycentro.

This must've taken a long time. But they were ready.

Giovanni Montuori

Giovanni putting it down from Genova Italy--a graphic design specialist having finished his master degree from the infamous Politecnico di Milano.

Below are two of his works he's designed for music festivals in Italy, both of which I chose to include the drafts for to show the differences made in coming up with the final product so you can decide for yourself which one you favor.

Together, Lorenzo Mason and Marco Camparado form Tankboys, a powerhouse for simply attractive designs in Venice, Italy.  Their posters and flyers tend to have clean and cool typography, keeping a really minimal style but with a powerful combination of lettering and colors popping your eyes out.
