Daniel Danger Art Print.

From DD:

just as a quick note, i stopped into Dieselfuel in portland OR, creation point for a few of my larger past art prints, on my way home from seattle and Flatstock, to work on a print today with ben and andy. im not 100% on the title yet, as im still sort of toying with the mythology of whats going on in my head. the intention is to do a rather small edition of this image and hand brush the sky before the line art goes down and touch up highlights and washes and make each one unique in some way, so the final image should look pretty different than what youre seeing above. how far this will go, im not sure, but weve got all day to see. i finished this up late late last night around 4am so im more or less running on fumes today, as i have been for weeks and weeks honestly. thanks life… UNFORTUNATELY, i dont have my proper camera with me today, so photos will be sort of minimal but i DO have my tiny video camera so ill try to get a sort of “process video” if i can.

Tomorrow Never Knows-The Beatles art print by Malleus

From Malleus:

There’s a new Beatles museum in Hamburg, celebrating the Beatles formative days on the Reeperbahn. It’s called the Beatlemania Museum.
It has five floors, 1300 square meters of Beatles stuff, a yellow submarine… it’s a huge tourist attraction, right on the Reeperbahn near where Flatstock Europe is located.
They have exhibition space, and they’ll host a show of Beatles-themed art prints before, during, and after Flatstock.
The show begins on September 24th, with an opening event at 7:00 PM. Thereafter, it will be open from 10-10 and is free to anyone with a Reeperbahn Festival pass.
We’ll be a part of the event and we’ve create an art print, as a visual interpretation of one of our favorite Beatles song: “Tomorrow never knows”, from the album “Revolver“.

The poster is a 6 colour handmade silkscreen on heavy cardboard and it’s a big size one: cm 60 x 90 (23 x 35 inches).
Run is 100.
It’s obviously inspired by the lyrics of the Beatles song and from the Timothy Leary words “Turn off Your mind, relax and float down stream”.
There are 4 “acid beetles”, like blotters, on the tongue and hand of the woman coming out from the third eye that is like a pool of ink.
Eye is linked to the sky descending from the brain on top.
At the bottom of the poster there’s the infinite symbol, like a loop “to the end of the beginning”, like the song itself, an incredible drone song of the ‘66.

The poster will be on sale at the Beatlemania Museum in Hamburg, during our european tour (Holland, Belgium and Germany – dates will be announced soon) and 20 copies will be for sale in our webstore from the 09.09.09.

New Malleus art print Watching You

From Malleus:

This poster was originally realized for a carnival party, so we imagined the cow of the famous cover of Pink Floyd’s “Atom Heart Mother” masked as Gene Simmons of Kiss.
We’ve always loved this image, so we decided to realize it in a large size as a handmade silkscreen.First of all for hanging it in our living rooms… ahaha

It’s a 7 colours print of about 70 x 70 cm (that is, if I’m not wrong, 27 x 27 inches) on heavy paper.
We’ve used a light blue metallic ink, a deep green, a prismatic gold/pink for the shadow on the cow and a metallic black.
Well, apart from red, brown and green.
We’ve recorded all the printing process and You can see all in the video below.
It’s been fun, we usually print on smaller sizes, so we had to change some of our “printing habits”.
We’re also working with new inks, so the colours are more vivid and metallic comes out of the paper.
Anyway, we’ve numbered 95 pieces and we’ll have them with us during our tour in Europe (from the mid of september).
Only 20 copies will be available from the 9th of september (what a wonderful date: 9/9/9) on our webstore
