Preorder James Jeans Process Recess 3

James Jean announced that his newest art collection, Process Recess 3, is now available for preorder. Process Recess 2 is one of my alltime favorite purchases, but unlike that book, which consisted of prints suitable for removal and framing, this one seems to be a more straightforward (and longer) collection of sketches. You can preorder the limited edition for $200 here, and preorder the mundane version for 33% off at Amazon.

Process Recess 2 is listed as temporarily out of stock, but you can order it for $20 at Amazon.

UNVEILING JAMES JEAN’S LATEST PAINTING MASTERPIECE, “EXCAVATION”

Staking his place in the American art scene JAMES JEAN is making a really good case as the next big thing. His painting chops are akin to the hand of God, and his sense of composition and palette are similarly sublime. Following his recent breakthrough art show at NYC’s JONATHAN LEVINE GALLERY, JJ has been laying low in the Southland quietly putting the finishing touches on a new series of masterpieces, like the just-completed vision we see here, “Excavation.” Rendered in acrylic and oil on canvas, this ethereal 3 1/2′ x 4′ dreamscape merely foreshadows the visual brilliance this nascent fine artist has to offer.

James Jean on the cover of new BLISSS Magazine...

James Jean is featured on the cover of the new BLISSS Magazine and is also featured inside in a great eight page feature filled with images from his recent Jonathan LeVine solo show, 'Kindling'.

"It's amazing to see the accumulation of lines in the sketchbook after all these years of work, kind of like spotting new wrinkles in my face." - Jame Jean from BLISSS Magazine interview

Free at surf and skate shops all over Southern California, be sure to pick up your copy now. Long known for supporting the arts, past cover artists for BLISSS have included Mark Ryden, Greg Simkins, Zach Johnsen, Mel Kadel, Retna, David Choe, Alex Pardee, Matt Godron, Alex Grey, Madsteez, and many, many more. BLISSS is primarily a skate/surf/lifestyle mag, but always have their eye on the Southern California art scene. Be sure to keep your eye out for each new issue.

James Jean – Swan Print @ SURU (3.6.09) on sale

This print looks beautiful.

In case there was any question that James Jean is one of the premier pop surrealist artists, his recent sold-out solo show, Kindling @ Jonathan Levine, removed all doubt. His huge multi-panel pieces are stunning. The only downside for most collectors is the formidable price point.

So we’re excited that James has partnered with SURU to release a Swan giclee print featuring the image of the original painting from The Kindling. The 50 hand signed and numbered prints measure 25″ x 44″ and will be available for $500 starting this Friday (3.6) from SURU, in-store and online. If you want one, you’ll have to be quick. Hopefully, we’ll see additional Kindling show prints in the future.
