Juxtapoz October 2009 Issue Curated by Pushead

The forthcoming Halloween-themed issue of Juxtapoz will be guest curated by legendary, gore-obsessed artist Pushead. “Pushead hung out at the Juxtapoz offices this past month helping bring his vision to fruition, which includes featuring the likes of Eric So, Rockin’ Jelly Bean, Wes Benscoter, Takato Yamamoto, Kristin Callahan, and many more. On top of all that, Pushead added a few new twists to our layout we’ve never tired before. Definitely not an issue to miss. Look out for it hitting newsstands and mailboxes in a few weeks.”

Pushead Skull Captain Figure | SDCC 2009 Exclusive Orange Glow

If you were excited about the ‘Gangway Ye Crowsnest’ colorup of Pushead’s Skull Captain, here’s another SDCC 2009 Exclusive to cause open mouth lockjaw. Rumored to be made of leftover Secret Base orange glow vinyl, this Skull Captain glows bright, with a full left arm and a hook right hand. Super limited, like prototype production numbers. Be on the look out for these commanding ship at the Pushead event at SDCC this Thursday.

Pushead @ SDCC (Thursday, 7.23)

Pushead continues his annual tradition of a tour de force event at SDCC. This year he brings his kaiju goodness and other surprises to Toy Tokyo (#5237) on Thursday (7.23) starting at 4:40 PM. While Pushead is keeping things on the down low for now, we do know that he will release a special SDCC exclusive Skullcaptain FHP4 ‘Gangway Ye Crowsnest Copa’. in an extremely limited event for $94 each. This edition was handpainted at the factory to match Pushead’s original.

After Pushead reveals his treasures and collectors select their favorites, Mike Sutfin will hold a mini session offering several customs @ 6:40 PM. Not to be missed, even if you have just a passing interest in Kaiju – it’s part of the SDCC experience for vinyl toy fans.

Pushead and Usugrow Exclusives at Paradise Toy Land

Paradise Toy Land Secret Base House of Secret show has been very busy! They’ve got over 600 Secret Base figures in the show. Up for grabs online will be two exclusives: Pushead’s Aye Matey Thar be OZOBOZO Skull Pirate and Usugrow’s The Salvation Ink (Gold Print). The pieces will be available starting April 27th at 13:30 Taiwan time. Ordering info and prices can be found here. I’ve personally ordered from Paradise before, and it’s the easiest overseas ordering imaginable. Someday I’ll hopefully visit their shop. And if you’re in the area, stop by to see the House of Secret show, which beings April 24th.

Pushead x NEIGHBORHOOD 2009 April Releases

New from NEIGHBORHOOD is the capsule of items created by iconic artist Pushead. The collection’s focus is on a graphic combining Pushead’s familiar skull set against an eagle motif. A jacket, t-shirt and sticker set all bear this particular graphic.

Pushead’s Skull Captain and Skull Pirates Pictures

Wow. Just spied these while clicking around on Artoyz’ Flickr. Characters by Pushead (fansite). Production by Secret Base. Coolness factor: exponential. There have been a couple other Skull Pirates to date, including some metallics. I love the green and blue/green colorway personally. Pushead is in a class of his own. Are these out yet?
