Cinema Posters and Lobby Cards of Andrei Tarkovsky's Films

So I watched this Royksopp music video that a friend sent to me, which had a comment by some random guy referencing this Russian film from 1979 called "Stalker" which in turn led me to discover the director Andrei Tarkovsky, and his notable films -- as well as the amazing posters and designs that were made for them, including Solaris and The Sacrifice.  Images come from this fabulous non-profit tribute site to Tarkovsky, nostalghia.com, which is worth visiting if you love the director or his films.  Design credits are unknown for a lot of these, but some are really fantastic.  The Solaris poster at the top is the Flyer Goodness favorite.

Denis Smirnov

Russian designer Denis Smirnov cranked out these posters, both of which are exceptionally appealing in terms of color and geometry.

Evgeny Zhelvakov

Some amazing work by Evengy Zhelvakov from Moscow.  The typographic robot flyer at the top is irresistible to the eyes and is definitely something I wouldn't mind having framed on my wall.  You need to start selling some prints Evengy!

Yum Yum

Some cool flyer designs for Yum Yum events. I love how their event flyers are pretty consistent with the branding, or at least the invoked emotions from the artwork. They never fail to be young, vibrant, tasty, and even a bit cheeky. Check out their flyer archive for more.

J. J. Galkus

Reminiscent of Where the Wild Things Are, this thick and clean style was printed by the classic Russian designer J. J. Galkus in 1975.
