Transformers #1 Comic Book Variant Cover by Tim Doyle-

From Alex at NAKATOMI:

Look HERE.

Even though Wizard Comics is keeping the image secret, I’ll give you exactly ONE guess as to what the cover to this comic book will be.

Now, Wizard selling this thing at 30 bux? Maybe they should kick some of that our way for trying to make us draw like Bart Sears in the 90’s w/ their ‘Brutes and Babes’ column. I’m coming for you, Gareb Shamus.

“The Sea Also Rises” a Kevin Tong and Tim Doyle Collab!

Click the pic for a HUGE image

This thing just friggin rules. From Alex at Nakatomi Inc :

Kevin Tong is literally a pair of cat’s pajamas.

A few weeks ago, between projects, Doyle started drawing the first in a new series depicting the unconsidered awesome results of Global Warming called “The Sea Also Rises”. And when faced with the Herculean task of coloring and separating the print, Kevin Tong stepped up, out of the darkness, and let his stunning color sense wash over the line art like a technicolor tide made from newly melted icebergs. From Kevin’s site, TragicSunshine, come these very informative process pics! (And seriously, go there and check out Kevin’s great work…he’s a real wiz with the art stuff!)

From Tragic Sunshine-

“Below, I have included a step by step process that details each hour I spent on it. I used Adobe Photoshop to color in Tim’s scanned artwork. Tim will be printing it at his studio in Austin.

“The Sea Also Rises: the Subway Squid” Will be available sometime next week! Dont worry I'll let you know.

Tim Doyle’s “LOST” Viral poster revealed-On Sale

In celebration of LOST's final season and as a project of fan appreciation, 16 top designers and artists, who are also fans of the show, were commissioned to create artwork celebrating one of the series' most memorable, and unforgettable, "water cooler" moments. This ultimate "fan art" was then turned into labor intensive, hand-pulled screen prints, limited to an edition of just 300, with less than 200 available to the public through our websites. Each beautiful poster tells its own different story, allowing the fan to relive memorable and influential moments in an artistic manner, as the show's storied run comes to a close. Once this limited edition print has sold out, they will never be printed again. Celebrate the fandom, community and family created by one of televisions' greatest shows by hanging a little part of it's history, inspiration and influence on your wall.

The print is currently for sale on this site- http://actuallyitsketchup.com/dcpb/I/

!8 x24 $61 with shipping

And considering how many rabid LOST fans there are out there, it won’t last. What’s not mentioned on the site is that this thing glows in the dark, and has a varnish overlay, repeating Hurley’s numbers.

You can read all about the event and see video of it (It’s weird, thinking people had to go to a party in LA to find out about where to buy a poster) HERE-

Gallery 1988 Crazy 4 Cult 3-D poster by Tim Doyle and a contest.

From Jensen of Gallery 1988:

It's become a bit of a tradition now to create a poster to promote the Crazy 4 Cult show. And these posters (in the past created by Chris Lee, Andrew Wilson & Scott Campbell) pack so many movie references in one punch (and are so beautiful), it's mind-blowing! This year we asked artist Tim Doyle to create the official Crazy 4 Cult 3-D poster, and we are glad we did. Tim was our secret weapon...literally.

Here he references just about 40 weapons from cult movies, one more obscure then the next. I've wasted easily 20 full hours just trying to figure it out. Which might explain why none of the Cult artwork is hung yet. OK, so just like the last two years, we're doing a contest. Can you name the weapons seen in this Tim Doyle poster? If so, you're kind of a cult movie genius. The key is above.

And here's the thing. Send us an email, matching which movie each weapon is from with the corresponding letter or number we have assigned it. Send it to gallery1988@aol.com, with the email headline "Cult Contest 09." The winner will not only get a handful of prints from this year's Crazy 4 Cult 3-D, but also an Artist Proof of Luke Chueh's "I Asked For Scrambled" print. That thing easily is worth a few hundred bucks. You have until the show closes on August 8th to email it in. GOOD LUCK and aim high
