More new Josh Keyes paintings for - “Natural Selection” @ Swarm Gallery

I found a couple more images from Josh Keyes‘ upcoming show to share with you since the first preview article. Opening along with Vaughn Bell in a show entitled “Natural Selection” at the Swarm Gallery this Friday (Aug 7th), Josh should only have four pieces. Keyes’ fans will treat this as an appetizer to his big show at Jonathan Levine coming up in Dec/Jan in New York.

Josh Keyes is gearing up for a small show at the Swarm Gallery in Oakland opening in August. He will be exhibiting alongside Seattle-based artist Vaughn Bell in a show entitled “Natural Selection.” The exhibition explores ways we interact with nature, and comprises new paintings and site-specific installation. Seen above is one of the fantastic paintings Keyes has created for this show called “Evacuation I.”

He’s back - after a sold out showing at Ambach & Rice last year, Josh Keyes moves to tackle the Rockies at the David B. Smith Gallery in Denver. The new show “Sprout” deals with the ever present tension between nature and the urban landscape. Josh’s new body of work draws on themes from Alan Weisman’s book “The World Without Us,” which illustrates Mother Nature reclaiming the Earth’s man-made structures and locales. The show will feature the largest Keyes painting (seen above) to date at a whopping 30″ x 80″!

We’re also excited to see Josh’s latest “interactive” installation piece “the Boli,” Josh’s sculptural interpretation of the hand-made artifact of the West African “Bamana.” The show opens, with Josh Keyes in attendance, on May 30th at 7pm and runs until July 3rd.

Teaser: New Josh Keyes Paintings - “Sprout” @ David B. Smith Gallery

One of my favorite artists, Josh Keyes is opening a show next month at David B. Smith Gallery entitled “Sprout.” After selling out his last solo (held at OKOK Gallery - now apparently Ambach & Rice), his rabid fan base is already chomping at the bit to see his newest body of work. From the exciting images we have seen so far, they will not be disappointed, as Keyes will be revisiting some old themes as well as exploring some new ideas.

Release: Hunters, Run! green vinyl X Josh Keyes

Our friends at The Art Collectors are reporting that At Arms LTD. will release a very limited, green vinyl, second pressing of the sold out Hunters, Run! single, which features beautiful art work by Josh Keyes. These will be dropping today sometime before midnight EST, so keep a watchful eye.The edition features cover and insert art by Josh Keyes and is limited to 100 copies on green vinyl. This is the final press and there will be no future editions of this record.

The company states they will only be offering a very small number of the edition online, as the band will be selling the record in the coming week during their Midwest tour and some copies have already gone during a pre-sale to mailing list members who missed out on the first edition.

Josh Keyes has released images of two new paintings. Everyone is hoping these will appear at the upcoming Scope Art Fair in New York City in March. Or in May at his solo show at The David B. Smith Gallery . I look forward to them both as prints.
